About Dr. Jesse Bashem

Dr. Bashem is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California. He graduated with B.A.s in Psychology and Philosophy from UC Santa Cruz and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Bashem completed his Psychological Internship at the West Los Angeles VA and developed expertise in treating PTSD, Interpersonal Trauma, and Sexual Assault during his advanced training at the UCSD/San Diego VA Postdoctoral Fellowship. His has experience within neuropsychology, forensics, college campuses, outpatient mental health clinics, and is certified as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Expert. Dr. Bashem’s approach to psychotherapy promotes deep personal understanding of one’s self, struggles, and interpersonal problems. He fosters a compassionate, safe, and productive environment to empower and transform overwhelming obstacles into manageable problems for his clients. He is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Interpersonal, Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapies and Behavioral Therapy (skills-based training).


Dr. Bashem founded his practice to provide the community with psychological services based in science while offering a compassionate and empathetic environment for those who may be struggling with difficulties related to mental health.


He is passionate about helping individuals better understand themselves and the problems they may be facing and he is committed to helping them find solutions.
