Lori Hops, Ph.D., DCEP is a Licensed Psychologist, providing psychotherapy to individuals. Dr. Hops has a Diplomate in Comprehensive Energy Psychology (see www.energypsych.org for more information). Using natural healing from energy channels in the body, chakras and biofields, clients learn to "tap" or massage acupoints while thinking of problems, goals and issues to bring the body into healing while the mind opens and relaxes. She practices Integrative Mental Health, drawing from conventional western empirical science, and wisdom traditions from around the world, including holistic systems, energy practices and use of intuition and inner guidance. Dr. Hops also uses techniques from Logosynthesis, cognitive behavioral, family systems, developmental, and psychodynamic approaches to healing. She is a Reiki Master, a mind body and spirit approach to healing that brings harmony and balance to the person. Reiki can be used in person, or at a distance, similar to prayer. Dr. Hops writes and teaches seminars on topics such as self-care, developing intuition, compassion, energy practices, laughter therapy, and finding meaning in life to mental health professionals, students, and the general public. Dr. Hops is President-Elect of ACEP, the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (2020). Dr. Hops attended the University of Houston, Texas (Ph.D. and M.A.; APA accredited) with an emphasis in Child and Family psychotherapy. Her undergraduate degree was in Experimental Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara (Cum Laude, High Honors). She also completed her APA accredited Internship at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Department of Psychiatry Los Angeles, CA.
