I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology - Berkeley/Alameda, in 1997. However, I feel my education has truly come from the experiences I have had supporting young people and their families the past 20 years. My clinical work has provided me the opportunity to come to know parents and youth, focused on improving the quality of their lives despite tremendous challenges. Witnessing the strength and resilience of these families, I have developed a strong respect and appreciation for the strength and passion of the parenting spirit.

Privileged to receive the trust of caregivers from many walks of life, parents, foster parents, blended families, Abuelas, Bubbies, Aunties, and adoptive parents as they worked hard to change their family-life trajectories, I recognize the courage it takes for parents to reach out for guidance and support. Sharing about the difficult times within family relationships, requires significant strength.

I consider a secure and nurturing parent-child relationship as invaluable in providing a strong foundation for healing, optimal growth, and the well-being of children. For this reason, I have incorporated Parent-Child Interaction Therapy into my repertoire of services, in addition to individual and more traditional family therapy.

I am also a parent. Having raised two sons as a single mother influenced the person and the therapist I am today. Like many of my clients, I too have struggled to find the “right answers” of how to respond to situations involving my sons’ social emotional health and behavior. I have laughed at myself and wondered how it would all turn out.

I welcome the opportunity to provide services, guidance and support to all families. Please visit my web-site for more information: www.familyinsync.net
