Dr. Huang earned her PhD in counseling psychology from Fordham University and master’s from Teachers College, Columbia University. She describes herself as someone who is invested in enhancing the voices of the marginalized, which translates to her clinical interests.
Dr. Huang has participated in research investigating the experiences of undocumented students, Asian men and masculinity, and racial events in group therapy. Her dissertation focused on exploring the experiences of heterosexual Taiwanese and Chinese American individuals who have gay or lesbian siblings.
Prior to starting her practice, Dr. Huang worked in various clinical settings including a VA hospital, public hospital, and college counseling centers. At her most recent position, she worked with survivors of sexual assault, queer people of color, gender nonconforming, and transgender folx.
